Ed Razek was relatively unknown outside of the lingerie industry until November of last year.
But seemingly overnight, he became one of the most discussed people on the internet after he made controversial comments about transgender and plus-size models in an interview with Vogue.
In the interview, Razek, the 70-year-old chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands, said that he didn’t think the lingerie brand’s annual fashion show should feature “transsexuals” because “the show is a fantasy.”
His comments sparked an outcry online, and critics called for his resignation. Razek issued a formal apology two days later, and the fashion show aired the following month, albeit to a smaller audience than in the past.Read full story...
